Fun facts about me
My 40th birthday challenge: I set myself the goal of running a marathon before I turned 40 - and I did it! Manchester, April 2014. I trained hard, ran strong, and was genuinely proud of myself… although I did eat so many jelly babies along the route I ended up with heart palpitations and had to spend the night in hospital the next day. Worth it? Absolutely.
London Marathon - round two: In 2018, I got a ballot place for the London Marathon - as did my friend. I’d been really poorly the year before and wasn’t exactly feeling marathon-ready, but I showed up to support her through her first one. It wasn’t my fastest (over 5hrs 30!) but I got over the finish line and we did it together.
I’m obsessed with learning: I’ve pretty much always got a podcast on in the background - whether I’m walking the dog, cooking tea or working on a new idea. I genuinely believe we never stop growing, and I love bringing fresh ideas into the businesses I work with.
Mum first, always: I’ve got two brilliant teenage kids who are my absolute world. People think it gets easier when they’re older, but I swear it just gets different. There's still loads to juggle - but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Proudly Yorkshire: Born and bred. For years, I thought I had to “posh up” my voice - what my kids call my telephone voice! But I’m learning to fully embrace the Yorkshire woman I am. Accents don’t define us - being real is far more powerful than being polished.
A little bit woo-woo: I’m all about personal development... and, angel cards, crystals and a bit of woo-woo (but not too much!). I love manifesting and believe in the power of energy, but I’m also a big believer in taking action.
